Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) unanimously approved a resolution condemning the Chinese government’s attack on press freedom in Hong Kong on Thursday.
The resolution, which received 585 votes in favour, 46 votes against, and 41 abstentions, called on the EU to provide lifeboats for Hong Kong residents fleeing the crackdown and to penalize officials involved.
